Joseph Pilates' three guiding principles
I have over 30 years experience in the fitness industry, initially training as a Fitness Instructor.
I was introduced to Pilates whilst living in New Zealand. I trained there through Polestar Pilates, a highly recognised and well reputed organisation in the Pilates field.
In 2012 I graduated as a Polestar Mat Instructor. 2017 I become a Practitioner of Pilates Studio which allows me to competently teach Pilates at a much higher level.
My experience covers all age groups and sports individuals and I have taught through clinics, gyms and Studios. I receive regular referrals from various practitioners to help work with those continuing their rehabilitation; and in small groups I am able to also meet each individual’s needs as the classs are small.
Benefits of Pilates are tremendous. I enjoy sharing these with my clients who are constantly encouraged by the progress they make from attending Pilates regularly. As Joseph Pilates advocated: "In 10 sessions you'll feel the difference, in 20 sessions you'll see the difference, and in 30 sessions you'll have a whole new body".
I focus strongly on technique and give attentive instruction ensuring clients are working correctly and enjoying a pleasant movement experience. I assist clients to not only reach their own personal goals but to experience all the other great benefits Pilates has to offer; which can include boosting clients’ confidence in life, being able to achieve everyday tasks with much more ease, or excelling better in a sport.
I hold a diploma in Diet & Nutrition and have an interest in Mindfulness. I am an advocate of Joseph Pilates' three guiding Principles of Pilates: “Whole Body Health, Whole Body Commitment and Breath.” Breath-emphasised exercises makes a difference to movement and our lives.
